Microcontroller Based Instrumentation System for Measurement of Strength of Cementing Medium Used in Dental Restorations : Orthodontic Studies
نویسنده
چکیده
A comprehensive analysis of various types of cementing media used to cement various dental restorations such as crowns, bridges etc. are presented. Effects of various cementing media on the retention of dental post in the root canal have been estimated. The system is mainly consists of strain gauges mounted on a cantilever, a specially design amplifier, data acquisition system (ADC0809), Micro-controller (8051) and a display unit. The hardware and software have been integrated into a composite system. The main features of the system are its simplicity, reliability, consistency, cost effectiveness and ease of use.

Are Bonding Agents being Effective on the Shear Bond Strength of Orthodontic Brackets Bonded to the Composite?
Introduction: One of the clinical problems in orthodontics is the bonding of brackets tocomposite restorations. The aim of this study was to evaluate the shear bondstrength of brackets bonded to composite restorations using Excite. Methods:Forty brackets were bonded to composite surfaces, which were embedded inacrylic resin. One of the following four protocols was employed for surfacepreparatio...

a compressive strength of 2,200 psi and the other with a compressive strength of 3,500 psi, were the most satisfactory for cementing temporary restorations. The data collected, however, were not sufficient in quantity to differentiate between the two cements. There was the possibility that one or the other of the two cements might prove superior, and this investigation was undertaken to collect...
متن کاملClinical studies of dental cements. 3. Seven zinc oxide-eugenol cements used for temporarily cementing completed restorations.
Seven zinc oxide-eugenol cements with compressive strengths from 200 psi to 8,000 psi were used for temporarily cementing completed inlays, crowns, and bridges. The effectiveness of each cement in a variety of clinical situations is presented. Cement of 1,000 psi met the requirements of typical clinical cases most frequently. The cements of compressive strength 200, 400, 600, 2,200, and 3,500 p...
متن کاملComparison of Shear Bond Strength of Composite Restorations to Intact Enamel of Primary Incisors When Using Different Conditioners and Adhesive Systems
Introdouction: Esthetic demands of patients have led to the introduction of tooth-colored restorations wherecomposite resins are bonded to the enamel using acid etch techniques. Total etch adhesion systems are still considered as the gold standard among bonding systems. However, clinicians have a tendency to use adhesive systems with simpler application procedures. The aim of the present stu...

Objectives This study aimed to evaluate the retention of composite restorations of primary anterior teeth reinforced with composite posts, glass fber posts, para-pulpal pins with composite posts, and para-pulpal pins alone. Methods Forty freshly extracted sound primary canine teeth with at least two-third of the root length remaining were selected. After disinfection, the tooth crown was cut...
